THE MOULIN is a complex of five lakes of varying sizes and depths fed by a natural spring and the river Iton. The Iton itself circumnavigates the five acre complex and provides its own excellent fishing.
The Moulin is France's only TROUTMASTER water and every year sends an entrant to the UK for the Troutmaster finals. The stocking policy is excellent (reared on site): average fish around 3lbs, with doubles an everyday occurance. You can target Rainbow, Browns, Blues, Goldens and Saumon de Fontaine.
The rules are catch and release (barbless) and inclusive in your ticket is 3 kilo of fish if you wish to take some home for the pot. The water supports excellent fly life and for the majority of the year top of the water sport is the norm.
All five lakes are inter-connected so there is a constant flow of water thoughout the complex - this allows for cool (well oxengenated) water temperatures in all but the very hottest conditions. Although the water is not as clear as many of our own southern lakes - there is generally good visibility in the top few feet of water where Moulin trout spend the majority of their season cruising - this allows for good targeting, instead of chuck and chance.
The Moulin's club house is a beautifully converted Normandy barn, with a very well stocked bar, plus dining facilities for up to 20 anglers. Meals can be ordered in advance, or alternatively, bring your own food to consume in the clubhouse or at the exterior bankside tables. There are also barbecue facilites for the anglers use.
